This is a song i recorded throughout the recording of the compilation.
I wanted to collaborate with someone and i didn't have a second verse. So i asked my good friend Jocelyn Topolie (Pookie) to write and lay down some beautiful vocals. She wouldn't even allow me to be in the room while she recorded... what a diva! Regardless she did a great job and i'm so pleased with how this song turned out. One of the better cuts on the record for sure and its always gotten a positive response.
Also, the audible talking in the background is from my favorite movie, Donnie Darko.
lyrics
I haven't been able to see you in seven days.
It's been a long wait.
I can't seem to figure out why it's been so long since I've held you in my arms.
You can't kill the comfortable
You can't change the tides.
There's something out there waiting for us
But I can't let go...
Laughter and innocence have left our faces
Replaced by a dark sky and aspirations
One day when the world quiets down
we'll be able to find ourselves.
Should I be on my knees?
Should I be saying I'm sorry?
Should I be on my knees?
One day when the world quiets down...
Should I be saying I'm sorry?
Let go.
Cause I'm sorry.
Don't let go.
