I knew James Mascola from high school and when i mentioned to him i was making a compilation, he was on board right away.
A very talented singer/songwriter, James came in and layed down the piano tracks for this in one take.
He then did his vocals in a few takes and before he left, asked me to add some vocal lines to it too. I listened to the song a bunch and wrote my lines in response to his lines, and threw them in the last verse.
I always hoped he would release a solo disc with songs like these someday...!
Now he sings in a band called Condokrew out of Toronto. Check them out!
lyrics
Just another night guided by street lights.
Suddenly the road doesn't seem normal size.
And the sidewalk is parallel with the moon.
Cause we won't rest till the last drop sets
and there's no turning back tonight.
You called shotgun on the skyline in hopes to make it back in record time.
Sit by the curbside as we watch the cars as they pass us by.
We laughed so hard, we nearly passed out.
We'll keep this going until we feel alive.
You called shotgun on the skyline in hopes to make it back in record time.
Sit by the curbside as we watch the cars as they pass us by.
Everyday, everyday.
Feel like there is nothing better
Feel like we're not getting older.
Everyday it brings a sunset.
Everyday promise to look back.
Will it matter sometime someday?
Nights like this delayed our decay.
Feel like we are nothing better.
Feel like there is nothing more.
Nothing more, nothing more, nothing more...
