about

This track was an experiment.

It's essentially a combination of different things i had recorded throughout the time MPC/CF spent in my basement that previous summer.

Derek recorded the Magnus one afternoon while Drew was in the bathroom. I took random wav files from separate sessions and combined them (note at the beginning, the reversed vocals are from 'Do the fat morning'!)... Jef then proceeded to mess around on my keyboard one afternoon so i recorded that too and threw it in. Some of the background noise is us watching Arrested Development and preparing Drew for vocals, in which i just left a mic on, unbeknownst to them. The spoken word was a bunch of stuff from my book, alot of it inspired by adbusters magazines and Thee Silver Mt. Zion album, Horses in the Sky.

We were trying to think of a ridiculous band name for the track, and we came up with Joey (me), Tony (Derek) and Freshy (Jef Bradshaw as an anagram = Fresh Bad Jaw).

lyrics

SPOKEN WORD:
"Stop this hypocrisy!
Find something more powerful than the materialistic sense of self you have.
Don't divert yourself! Don't let your state precede your people.
So back down from your crusade with your law and your god and your war and your corrupt system that finds no end.
So put on your faceless mask behind your tarnished badge,
instability needs to end.
this isn't our justice but these are our arms of protest!
So tell me what its worth
Tell me if i laugh at your tyrant
fill his barrels with roses, will i die young?
will i plant the seeds of a new tommorow?
put an end to our glossy times, our high rises and our needless intervention.
will we revert ourselves and end this punishment we accept to endure?"
