This song was a song idea i had in my head that I wanted to record while in London.

It eventually morphed into three separate ideas, the middle part being the reversal of part 1. it was the first time experimenting with reversed tracks and i really wanted to show that i could write on top of reversed piano.

I held onto the ideas until the recording process and asked my good friend and vocalist Morgan Craig- Broadwidth to come and record her angelic voice, as the 'GIRL' part in the song. I'm always a sucker for guy/girl duets (thats why there are 3 on this album!)

So I ended up adding some vocals myself to the track after the fact and have since re-recorded the song on my LP Time Wounds. Although very lo-fi, I like this version better!

The creeping light from the outdoors was an eyesore to my slumbered state.
It illuminates twenty years sky high in my troubled mind,
slowly on the decline with every year passing by.
My eyes were sunstroke, so they awoke, and I laid peacefully as the birds sang outside.
That's when I realized I was not alone - unless I had grown,
there was someone behind me under the sheets, still fast asleep.

I swore to myself I went to bed alone, put on the metronome; tricks my mind - thinks it's home
I tried to be discreet and gently shifted the sheets but my heart fell apart and skipped a beat (like this!)

Inside it decided to unwind as I'd found myself behind a one of a kind.
An angel who made my love turn blind.
I had to make sure it wasn't the liquor I'd been drowning myself in since last spring.
But I spoke not a word as not to disturb this angel from her deep beauty sleep...
and she sang to me...
